REAL Organic Gardening for Spring
with Randy Ritchie

Randy Ritchie, founder of Malibu Compost and gardening author will walk you through HOW TO use Real Organic protocols like topdressing with compost and amending with simples like kelp, fishbone meal, alfalfa meal, azomite, castings and more (box-type products) to build really healthy soil, that will grow really healthy plants.
He’ll also teach the class how to make a really nice compost tea extract and share the amazing benefits it brings in feeding the soil, feeding the plants, mitigating transplant shock, stimulating root growth and helping wipe out fungal diseases like powdery mildew.
Real Organic Gardening is a class for ALL gardeners interested in growing clean, healthy, safe and really organic soil, food, plants, gardens and landscapes. The class is tailored for environments and ecosystems like Sonoma County where runoff and fertilizing can be damaging to the waterways and nature that surrounds your beautiful area. Pruning Class with Fred & Kamala

Fred Frey and Kamala Dionne from Vintage tree care will be teaching a hands on fruit tree pruning class at Harmony Farm Supply. Between both Fred and Kamala they have over 30 years of experience in the arboriculture field, with specialized training in fruit tree care and structural pruning. Participants will learn basic tree anatomy and how it relates to proper tree structure, weight management and fruitwood distribution in a given species. Pruning tool handling and use will be covered as well as a basic ladder use as it applies to fruit tree care.
If weather permits, this will be an outdoor hands on workshop, so dress appropriately.
